Catching Up

Seriously, I'm not sure where the time goes.  I have meant to post pictures of the First Day of School, our trip to Bear Lake, etc., etc., and I never seem to sit down and finish what I'm meaning to write.  So, rather than wait I'm going to post the pictures and maybe come back later and journal...maybe.
Caleb 6th Grader - Hard to Believe this is my "baby"
Walking to school with all the neighborhood kids.  Our first of the lasts.  Last first day of school in elementary for us.  This is bittersweet.
All his buddies waiting to meet the new teacher and "rule the school" being the oldest
Sitting in the sun and getting out last chance for a suntan.
Bridger and Stetson off on the jet skis our friends let us all ride.  We are now wanting one, well really two.
Kayaks were also fun.
Catching up on his sleep, he never gets enough.  Sure.
Off again for another ride.
The leaves are already starting to change.  I do love the Fall.
St. Charles Idaho on top of th hill overlooking Bear Lake.

We've had a great Summer.  It went by so quickly. I have pictures of the boys camping trips also.  Which I hope to add sometime in the near future.

Camping with Friends

The 5th Annual Neighborhood Campout was held this last weekend at Perception Park.  It was a 10!!!  We had a such a great time.  Two fun filled days of riding tubes down the river, dutch oven dinner, yummy breakfast, and good friends.  This has been a really fun tradition that will continue again next year.  August 4-6, 2011.  It's already booked, so put it in on your calendars.  All are welcome, even if you don't live in the neighborhood.  It's a blast.  Look for yourselves...
Oh and as if that wasn't enough, it was the Bountiful Orthodontics Summer Splash party for Dr. Feller's patients. I was responsible for that too, like I didn't have enough to do. It was so much fun. A busy weekend, but a rewarding one.   I have the best job, I love it!

Cherry Hills

As you know I work at Bountiful Orthodontics.  Out Summer party for the patients is going to be at Cherry Hill.  I needed to go and check out where we were going to be and get the passes so I took Caleb and a couple of his friends to test out the park.  What a rough assignment.  Love that place.

Pioneer Days

This past month as part of my calling our stake was involved in putting a float together for not one, but two parades.  We participated in the Salt Lake Youth Parade and the Bountiful Handcart Days Parade.  For any wondering, the SL Youth Parade is by far my favorite one.  It's about 6 blocks long and is not that crowded.  Only about 1 hour long, easy parking, all cute kids walking alongside their respective stake floats, bands, some awesome floats and early enough in the day it was not too hot.  It's, I think, a secret.  I'm definately going to this one next year to sit and watch.  We had a good time.  Our theme's float was Family Dinner, a Valuable Tradition.  We had pictures of families from our stake actually having dinner blown up and children carrying them or displayed on our float.  We had a family dressed in pioneer clothing having a dinner around a campfire and a modern family having almost the same dinner in a today setting.  I think it was great.  Thank you to those who supported us we couldn't have done it with out you and it was an experience I can hopefully check off of my bucket list...oh wait, it was never on my bucket list.  Anyway, love Pioneer Days.  Appreciate all they did for me to make my life easier as I am free to worship how I choose.  Love my calling and love the children and leaders of my stake.

New Blog - Family Dinner

This past month our stake was able to participate in the SL Youth Parade and the Bountiful Days of 47 Parade, (that's another post entirely of it's own to come shortly)  Anyway, both parades had a pioneer theme of then and now which we incorporated into the theme of our float to be; "Family Dinner, a Valuable Tradition."  We decorated a small trailer with a family eating dinner dressed in pioneer era clothing and on the opposite side was a modern day family eating almost the same dinner in a today setting.  We passed out flyers with benefits of family dinner and organizing tips to accomplish this.  Along with the flyer was posted a new blog that will give recipes, ideas, etc of helping families get started.  Mine could use a little help too.  Life gets crazy and now more than ever it's time to come back together and "talk" around the dinner table.  So, with this said, please go to this new blog.  Maybe with some of my friends posting it to their blogs we will start having some followers and get this up and running.  yummytabletalk.blogspot.com  See you there:)

Happy 12th B-day Caleb

Sorry about the quality, taking a picture of a picture, but here he is enjoying the leaves.

Loves Legos, this man did not disappoint.

Happy Birthday Pal
Dinner at his favorite place, Texas Roadhouse

Twelve years ago today, Caleb Wyatt Clayton entered the world.  He was a very welcome sight as we had had a rough few months after the passing of my sister Jody.  Caleb reminded us of the good in the world and how much our Father in Heaven loves us as he sent a beautiful healthy baby to our family.  Even when we were still so sad.  When Caleb was born he was almost two weeks late, my dr. decided it was finally time to have him be part of our family.  Circumstances were that he would have to be delivered by c-section, which made it possible for all of my family to be there.  After they brought me back into recovery, as I was holding him he looked up past me and smiled, even the nurse saw it, I knew that my sister Jody was there and letting him know that he had arrived safe and sound.  We have always felt he was such a blessing in our lives to remind us of the plan of salvation and that families are forever.

Happy Birthday Caleb!  You're awesome, and amazing and I love you so much.  A little sad however that my baby is 12.

Just when I thought I'd make it...

Pixar had to put Toy Story 3 in theaters.  Could it have been more my story?  Seriously.  In recent posts I have admitted to shedding tears over just about everything.  Caleb and I decided to venture to theaters to see the new TS3.  I have loved the previous ones and to be honest never shed a tear.  This one however, got me.  Did I know that Bridger and Andy were the same age in the other ones...Nope!  But, they must be.  It is exactly how I feel.  Where did that little boy with a big imagination and a toy box of fun go? Loved the show, even the tears.  I've decided I just need to invest in tissue boxes and especially carry some when I go to the movies, or drive past the school, or really just about anything gets me these days.  Just remember it comes faster than you think and just when you think you've gotten over it, you go to a movie that reminds you of it all over again.  Oh well...I'll survive, I hope.  How am I ever going to survive when he actually goes somewhere, like his mission...UGH!  I'm doomed!
